our dream

When we finally opened Bed & Breakfast Los Montes during the spring of 2011, our age-old dream had finally come true. It had almost become a matter of now or never. Martine had built a great career for herself in the insurance world and Dirk had been working flat out for a chemical company in the Port of Antwerp for years. As our careers began to take over, we increasingly craved a different type of life, a life devoid of hurry-scurry, where we would have time for each other and where we could seize the day as we saw fit.

After some extensive searching in Australia, the South of France and Northern Spain, just to give you some examples, we finally found everything we could have wished for in Andalucia. Instantly, we fell in love with its wonderful climate, its nature, its spaciousness and tranquillity, its cultural heritage, its relaxed ambiance, the local cuisine, its charming towns, the easy way of life, its stunning sand beaches, attractive seaside resorts… and with our stunningly located finca Los Montes of course.

Here, in the Axarquía region – near Malaga – on the Costa Del Sol, life is for living, stress free. From word go, the Spanish people showed us what genuine hospitality is all about, which is something we vowed to disseminate amongst our guests . With due regard for the historical Moorish building tradition, we completely refurbished Los Montes to our taste.

Everything we do is for our own and our guests’ enjoyment. Our son Robin and we look forward to giving you a warm and informal welcome at our B&B. You may arrive as guests but you are sure to return home as friends.
