The still very authentic Andalusian coastal town of Nerja – located at a 30-minute drive from Los Montes – boasts an amazing 16 km stretch of beach. Tiny secluded beaches, little bays and coves alternate with large, wide sand beaches. Nerja is also famous for its Balcón de Europa, a promenade in the centre, built on top of a cliff that runs into the sea. Just outside Nerja, you will find the world-famous stalactite and stalagmite caves. Aside from the numerous archaeological treasures, also some amazing 20,000-year-old murals were discovered here.
